Coldest Night of the Year

On the evening of February 23, I will be joining hundreds of residents to walk on the Coldest Night of the Year to raise funds for the Dam Youth Drop In and prevent homelessness in our community. This is a family-friendly, fun winter fundraising event for Mississauga’s homeless, hungry and hurting.   The walk begins and ends at the Meadowvale Community Centre & Library, 6655 Glen Erin Dr., where walkers will register, turn in the results of their fundraising efforts, and return at the end of the evening for a warm celebration meal.   Watch for details closer to the date on how to join my team and/or how to donate.

parkrun is a FREE weekly fun and sociable 5 km run.  You can walk, run, wheelchair around Lake Aquitaine with a group of residents who want company for a morning activity.  It is not a race and you go at your own speed and comfort level.

This track will be used by the students from many schools during school hours and will be available for the community to use after hours.  Encouraging healthy communities is a priority and a good use for the funds.
Please watch for news of the official unveiling.
