Retail Business Holidays Act – Public Consultation: Phase 2 Public Workshops

The Region of Peel has launched a Retail Business Holidays Act survey  to gather input from residents.  The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/PeelRBHA-SurveyAs well, the region is holding a  public workshop in Mississauga in order to gather more public input.  Below is information regarding the workshop.

Public Consultation on Airport Noise Mitigation

Public consultations are being hosted by NAV CANADA and the GTAA on the Noise Mitigation Initiatives Engagement Plan (Six Ideas). As part of this work, the GTAA and NAV CANADA have been studying Six Ideas that are aimed at reducing noise impacts for residents around the Greater Toronto Area. The technical analysis of the Six Ideas is now complete, and the GTAA and NAV CANADA will be meeting with the community to present recommendations.

Public consultations—in line with the Airspace Change Communications and Consultation Protocol—will run from March 3rd to April 20th with 15 sessions being held in communities surrounding the airport.   Click here for details.  You can also visit the Toronto Pearson website.  As always, if you have any concerns about aircraft noise, they can be directed to the GTAA’s Noise Office at: 416-247-7682 or to the online noise complaint form. Community Workshop: Ideas and Options for the Adequate Heat By-law 

There are two community workshops to review the Adequate Heat By-Law and address the following:

  1. That cooling provisions be added to the By-law at the expense of the owner.
  2. That air conditioning be considered an essential service.
  3. That the dates in the Adequate Heat By-Law be made flexible.
  4. That appropriate stakeholders are included in discussions related to the matter.

Peel Regional Police Cyber Academy – The crime prevention experts at Peel Regional Police have designed a number of certificate  programs that will teach citizens to keep themselves, their families and their property safe and are offered FREE of charge.  Click here for dates and times in February and March, 2018.
