Windrow Snow Clearing Program – The City of Mississauga is now accepting applications for its Driveway Windrow Snow Clearing Program, so you don’t have to do all the heavy lifting this winter.  A windrow is a pile of snow left at the end of a driveway after a snow plow has cleared a road. The program is open to residents who are 65 or older, or persons with physical disabilities. Eligible residents have until 9 p.m. on November 9, 2018 to apply for the 2018-2019 season.  Click here for more information and to apply.

Vacuum Leaf Collection Program – I am pleased to announce that quite a number of Ward 9 streets (listed below) have been added to the Vacuum Leaf Collection program this year.  If you live on one of these streets you will receive a postcard in the mail with their zone and collection dates (see attached). Normally these cards are delivered on a staggered schedule so that they arrive approximately two to three weeks prior to the zone’s first pickup. Due to potential service disruptions at Canada Post, the city has opted to send all Leaf Pickup postcards to eligible addresses at once. Please rake leaves to the boulevard’s edge or into their ditch by the Sunday prior to your leaf collection dates. Leaves should not be raked onto the road.  Click here for information about the program.
