On May 9 at Lake Aquitaine, join Heritage Mississauga and the 2nd York for the reenactment of the War of 1812. Spring Drill Day runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Spring Drill Day, is a day of practice and preparation for the re-enactors. It involves marching, formation practice, demonstrations, safety, and musket firing. The event provides audience engagement and narration, and music component. Event organizers will provide a “mini militia” kids program for interested youth at different points during the day. On May 21 Global 180s Forward Vision 2026 comes to Meadowvale Theatre. Experience an entertaining night with a world class entertainer and illusionist, Michael C. Anthony from Tampa, Florida.  Hear about the exciting work that this organization is currently doing with youth in southern Ontario, as well as their exciting plans for expansion into other communities.  Also, learn of ways you might consider becoming a partner with Global 180’s initiatives and success. Join me on Friday June 19 from 9 am – 11 am for my fourth annual W9 Seniors Information Fair at Meadowvale Community Centre (6655 Glen Erin Dr.) The Seniors Information Fair will provide resources on health services, transit, recreation, nutrition, safety and supports for seniors living at home.

From the safety of being part of something, they find connections to friends, values and their self-worth. It is then that they can grow, gain confidence and become leaders.
