Feb. 2, 2024 – Thank you to Peel Police, Peel Crime Stoppers and Safe City Mississauga for joining me to host a Crime Safety and Prevention town hall.

Feb. 1, 2024 – Ward 9 is home to
Peel Police HQ. It was the place to be as the brilliant and elegant Jean Augustine shared stories and inspired packed room for Black History month.


Feb. 1, 2024 – Construction of Fire Station 125 at Union Park remains on target. Construction is expected to be completed later this Spring. I’m so excited to see this amazing facility in W9.


Jan. 29, 2024 – Thanks to everyone who joined my team and I on for our first W9 Community Hours session for 2024. In addition to your valuable feedback, I’d like to thank everyone who donated non-perishable food items we collected for Eden Food For Change.


Jan. 24, 2024 – Today, we raised the #BellLetsTalk flag at #Mississauga Celebration Square to help create positive change for mental health.

Jan. 18, 2024 – I think I nailed my 45 second speech at Toastmasters! Toastmasters Meadowvale meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm in MCC. Come and join this vibrant community of people. We can all sharpen our public speaking skills.


Jan. 17, 2024 – Today Council was proud to announce 2 MiWay employees received leadership awards from the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA). Congratulations Stephen Bacchus and Peter Dabrowski . Thank you to all of our MiWay staff who serve this great city of ours.


Jan. 17, 2024 – Thanks to City Manager Shari Lichterman and her team for hosting Urban Planner Brent Toderian. Tonight we spoke about what the next 50 years will look like for Mississauga.

It is encouraging to know this and many faith communities are praying for our city tonight.

Increasing active transportation can also help reduce traffic congestion. Pleased to join Alex and co-op student Cameron at Castlebridge PS for walk to school day.

Oct. 7, 2023 – Attending Peel Crime Stoppers classic car event with my Region of Peel Council mates Cllrs. Russo, Napoli and Maskell. I am proud of the work Peel Crime Stoppers is doing in Ward 9.

Oct. 6, 2023 – Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Touch A Truck event at Garry Morden Centre. We had so many people attend that we unfortunately had to turn people away.

Oct. 5, 2023 – Touring Fire Station 125 with Facilities staff. I am so excited and impressed by this build.

Sept. 27, 2023 -Today we honour #OrangeShirtDay. Councils stand in solidarity and wears orange to honour the thousands of Survivors of residential schools, and the children who never came home.

Sept. 26, 2023 – It was a pleasure to co-host the City’s Civic Award of Recognition evening with Cllr. Parrish.

Sept. 24, 2023 – Visited Eden Food For Change with my friend @nicholaf44
and his foundation. They delivered a truck full of food for the foodbank. 

Sept. 24, 2023 – Eden United Church opened their Peace Pole. It was an inspiring and educational service. I learned a lot today about our friends in the Indigenous community. What a moving service. May Peace Prevail On Earth.

Sept. 24, 2023 – Attending the Mito Canada  Walk n Roll fundraiser. All of the $40,000 raised so far goes DIRECTLY to research. Dr Josh Nederveen shared that this research is grossly underfunded and events like this actually make a difference. So, thank you!

Aug. 3, 2023 – I had a great time hanging out with Cllr. Dasko on the south side! Cllr. Dasko and the Port Credit BIA have a Thursday night event for car lovers. It’s in its 4th year of talented musicians and drool-worthy cars. My classic car and I had a grand time.

Aug. 3, 2023 – In the Ward, excited to see Safe City Mississauga meeting with the community. Thanks to Lauren of Safe City Mississauga and Region of Peel staff who partnered up to support the communities in Ward 9.

Aug. 1, 2023 – Celebrating Emancipation day at Peel Police Headquarters. Thanks to Peel Police for hosting this wonderful BBQ.

Aug. 1, 2023 – May or and Council raised the Pan-African Flag at city hall. Pan-African: those of African birth OR descent- My parents of Jamaican descent are descendants of those enslaved and brought from Africa.

July 27, 2023 – I had a great time hanging out with our summer students at the Meadowvale Works Depot. Many times, they only hear from Councillors when something is wrong, so we decided to give the some love. Thanks for all you do, team!

June 22, 2023 – With Ruth Thompson Middle School Principal Simone and her community for their Celebration of Culture and Learning event. Simone has done a great job this year uniting the families in her school.

June 22, 2023 – Joined by Cllr. Dasko and Chief Rizzi to celebrate the latest Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services recruitment class.  This class is special to me as I asked to speak to them on their first day of training. Since then, we ate lunches together on their fundraiser Thursdays, and now they have graduated. I am so proud of them!

June 21, 2023 – Celebrating National Indigenous People day at Celebration Square. It was a great day for live events and artisans!

June 21, 2023 – Joining Mississauga Fire for their Fire Fighter Softball tournament at Dutton Athletic Fields. Funds raised for Muscular Dystrophy.

June 18, 2023 – I went for a Father’s Day Drive and on my way back, I passed by Totoredaca park. Our friends at the Model Flying Club were already in the air at 7:00 am.

June 16, 2023 – We successfully completed my first (the Ward’s 8th) Seniors Info Fair. Thank you to our keynote speaker, former Cllr. Pat Saito. We had over 300 people in attendance and plenty of free food and giveaways. Everyone loves free stuff! Everyone loves Pat too.

June 14, 2023 – Congratulating Schlegel Villages as they celebrate 20 years of serving seniors in Erin Mills!

June 12, 2023 – I appreciate the time spent with our MiWay team.  I am learning every day what it takes to have a world class transit system in Sauga.

June 11, 2023 – With Baljit from Canadian Tire Meadowvale. Our convo was about cycling infrastructure, organizations that teach people how to safely ride a bike and the high number bike purchases at his location. There is a whole ecosystem of cycle culture we are trying to do right.

June 4, 2023 – At the Black & White Gala for Shelter Them, who provides supports to transform the lives of children in Rwanda. My friends have been running this org for many years! This is their 17th annual Gala.

June 3, 2023 – I had great conversations with these gentlemen today. The Walnut foundation is bringing awareness to early testing for prostate cancer.

May 31, 2023 – John Wiggins joined us at Council prior to the inaugural Stop Gun Violence day in Canada. 

May 30, 2023 – Helping staff at ChuckECheese West Mississauga celebrate their Grand Re-opening.


May 18, 2023 – Street Tennis Community Event at Edenwood Middle School with Ward 4 Councillor, John Kovac and Ward 9 & 10 School Trustee,  Jeff Clark.

May 17, 2023 – Cineplex Junxion Grand Opening Event.  What a great addition to the Ward 9 Community!  I will see you at the movies!

May 16, 2023 – I love the days when I work locally and use my e-bike as transportation.  Today was a day to catch up on work in a quaint corner at the Meadowvale Theatre, visit West Credit Secondary School and return later in the day to Meadowvale Community Centre for a virtual meeting.  If you see me in the area, please come say hello!


May 16, 2023 – A quick ride over to the Cari-Can 55 plus group to celebrate Edwin’s 90th birthday.

May 11, 2023 – I attended the 28th Annual Marty’s Awards (pictured with Omar Hopkinson, Public Art Award recipient and Ward 10 Councillor, Sue McFadden)

May 10, 2023 – No one was happier than me on McHappy Day!  I had such a great time working the window (see post on my twitter page HERE) – I think these socks are my new favourite!
