Ward 9 Community Newsletter

Feb 1 2025

February is a month that often seems to pass too quickly. With Family Day in the middle of the month and it being a shorter month, time flies.

We have just completed our Regional and City budget proceedings, which posed some challenges. As always, Council has done its homework by looking for ways to add value to our services, while keeping in mind what is important to you. Community safety and well-being continue to be our focus. For more on this, visit the link below.

On Feb. 9 I am excited to partner with your local elected officials to host our first FREE family skate event at Meadowvale Four Rinks. I encourage everyone to get moving and join us for this special event. Thank you to our friends at Meadowvale Town Centre Tim Hortons for sponsoring the event. Free hot chocolate and coffee will be served from noon – 1:30 pm.

My Ward 9 Community Hours 2025 dates have been scheduled (see Ward9.ca for dates/times and locations). I really enjoy these community touch points as it allows us to sit down and chat. If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to book a time with me, as it is my hope we can continue to work together to make Ward 9 Better Every Day! My next community hours date is Thurs. Feb. 6 from 6 – 8 pm at Erin Meadows Community Centre. I hope to see you then! Register below.

February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate many individuals and communities that have chosen to thrive. I look forward to seeing you at our various events that honour the diverse communities that make our city special.

As always, my door remains open for your questions, suggestions and concerns.
Please email me or call my staff at 905-896-5900.

Best,

Councillor Martin Reid
