Ward 9 Community Newsletter

April 1, 2026

Dear Neighbour,

As we welcome April, I want to take a moment to reflect on what was a busy, engaging, and inspiring March in our community. I had the opportunity to join Regional staff at the Annual Modular Construction & Prefabrication Symposium, where we explored innovative approaches to building more affordable housing—an issue that remains a top priority for many residents.

Closer to home, it was exciting to celebrate the grand opening of Sephora at Erin Mills Town Centre, adding to the vibrancy of our local economy. I was also honoured to attend Community Living Mississauga’s 2026 Tribute Dinner, recognizing the incredible work being done to support individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals and living fulfilling lives.

Community connection was a recurring theme throughout the month—from a lively Games Night with the Ubuntu Community Care Seniors Group at Meadowvale Community Centre, to the energy and enthusiasm at the Raptors 905 Practice Court Grand Opening- to the fun-filled Ice Puppies All-Star Weekend introducing kids to the joy of hockey.

I also had the privilege of attending the Shining L.I.G.H.T.E Youth Charity’s 3rd Annual Fundraiser, which showcased the passion and leadership of our young people.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who took the time to connect with me through Ward 9 resident calls and in-person meetings. These conversations are truly a highlight of my work, and I look forward to continuing them in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect.
