September 1 2025
Dear Neighbours,
I am sad to see summer come to an end. I’ve enjoyed spending most of it with so many of you, whether it be at community meetings and events, church sales, neighbourhood block parties and the MTC movie night – all of it has made my summer memorable. I hope you too had a fantastic summer.
The arrival of Fall ushers in an even busier schedule at the office and in the Ward. More on that below. But first, I’d like to welcome our students back to school. I hope you all have a successful school year ahead. To our parents and drivers, please be mindful of our students and practice safe driving habits. Below are tips to help keep everyone safe on our roads and a kind reminder that our Parking Enforcement staff will be conducting automatic enforcement during the first 2 weeks of the return to school. However, should you require enforcement, please call 311 to log your location. Please be respectful of our bike lanes, kiss n’ ride locations and access to residential driveways. Please do not block these spaces or impede the safety of others. Where able to do so, please encourage our students to walk or ride their bikes to school. Your cooperation is appreciated.
September sees the return of regular City and Region Council and committee meetings, budget discussions, the return of W9 Hours, several community events and fundraisers including the Terry Fox Run and Walk N Roll at Lake Aquitaine. Please follow along with timely updates via my social media platforms and the Ward9.ca website.
Best,
Councillor Martin Reid
